First day of the Lofoten tour

My wife and I planned a trip to the Lofoten Islands for the next four days. I had booked three hotels on our way, and our destination today was the first one in Gratangen, where the Lofoten archipelago begins. The journey took us along the coast and then onto the mainland. It was getting quite warm, with temperatures rising to 26 degrees Celsius.

When we arrived in Gratangen and found the hotel, it was still before the official check-in time. The hotel had no reception, it was open and there was a telephone number to call. I did so and we were told which room was ours and that the key was in a room door. There was a spectacular waterfall behind the hotel and we had a direct view of it from our room!

We explored the area and climbed up the waterfall and took a few photos. We noticed that the area was full of ripe blueberries, so we started picking them and filled a 0.5 liter bottle with blueberries in about half an hour.

The hostel was really cozy, with everything we needed and with a magnificent view of the waterfall and the fjord on the other side.

We covered 228 km in about four hours. The total trip counter stopped at 4,973 km.
