Day 14: Trip to Sommarøy

I got company

My wife flew in this morning and we picked her up from the airport and drove to Sommarøy, a beautiful island about 45-minute drive from Tromsø with some very nice beaches. The weather was very nice, the temperature climbed to 23 degrees Celsius. This time we took a car.

Some people were in the water, but most were just enjoying the sun. The water didn't feel that cold and I regretted not taking my swimsuit with me.

Some reindeer also found the beach attractive and came by. They are actually quite peaceful animals, minding their own business at their own pace.

A little bit of hiking

We drove another 30 minutes or so to a small hill with a view and hiked up. The view from the top was magnificent. As if we were in the Caribbean and not in the north of Europe!
